I AM is the new I DO

~Thought is a seed for action ~

Previously when people asked me what my hobbies included , I would say ‘I love to draw and paint’. They would exclaim, ‘ Oh, so you’re an artist! ‘ I would hesitantly think for a moment and reply ‘ haha, uhm……maybe’

I always had a feeling of self doubt (which subconsciously did impact the quality of my work). I would ask myself, Am I good enough to claim that I’m an artist? Words like ‘artist’ would appear so big to me that I would place it on a pedestal. I would tell myself that, someday when I feel qualified or good enough, I will accept it.

Isnt it just so easy to say things like:

‘I am not good enough’

‘I am not so pretty’

‘I not an artist, I just colour when I’m bored’

‘I’m not a photographer, I just click pictures in my free time’

‘I’m not a writer, I just randomly pen down my thoughts at times in my diary ’

I wondered why I did this. Why am I so hesitant to claim that I have have it in me or even believe that I’m good enough?

So, I decided to make a change. (My Eureka moment :P)

I decided to take that title off the pedestal where I felt it’s difficult to reach . Instead, I made it a part of me.

Yes, I AM an artist! Yes, I AM

I noticed It also became easier to take actions when I have made it a part of me. It became something natural.

If you want to achieve something, just go ahead, embrace it completely.Trust me, it feels great.

Words and statements are powerful than you think it is. Feed your mind with the right set of things. Trick it. You will also notice that you start behaving in a way that aligns with what you’re saying and hence your behaviour and actions will change as well.

If you want to achieve being a dancer, tell yourself and the world that “Yes, I AM a dancer.” Forget about saying ‘ I wish to be a dancer’ or ‘ I want to be a dancer’. Make it your present.

Yes! Go ahead. Say it. Claim it!

With no bit of a hesitation. Believe that YOU ARE one already!

Now, What would a dancer do? Take those actions of a dancer. Remember? You are one already ? Go to those classes, follow and practice with complete discipline, work on your expressions just like an actual dancer does.

You can also use this method to remove your bad habits and change. For example: If you want to quit smoking, tell yourself and the world ‘ I am a non smoker’. Say it a few times. Your brain and your subconscious mind is listening to you. Eventually you will definitely stop smoking.

If you keep saying I AM a lazy, you will remain one.

If you keep saying I AM scared, you will continue to fear.

Why ? Because you have made that an identity. I AM is an identity statement. Like how you say I AM Mr.X , I AM __ year old. It’s pretty much like stating a fact.

If you want to achieve something or change something about yourself, change your identity around it.

Be what you want to be, now. Do those things.

Just embrace it, completely!
